Deputy Chief of Police - VIA Rail Canada

Lucie Tremblay has 32 years of police and security experience in the federal government. She is currently the Deputy Chief Constable of the newly formed VIA Rail Canada Police group. She also contributes to corporate security with the responsibility for ensuring the safety and security of VIA Rail Canada passengers, employees and operations through the prevention and detection of crimes, preserving the peace through law and order and responding to emergency situations with a team of police constables.

A veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, she held numerous appointments as a military police officer. She was trained as a criminal investigator early in her career, under the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service. She was subsequently seconded to Criminal Intelligence Service Canada and contributed to the fight against organized crime as a national project co-ordinator. She led the criminal intelligence program in support of domestic and deployed operations and commanded multinational brigade Investigations in Afghanistan.

In her career, she also had the privilege to be involved in policy development, selection and training and command of a military police unit and a larger formation. One of the highlights of her career was to lead the military police contribution to a large-scale domestic operation in support of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.

Prior to retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces, she held the appointment of Commanding Officer of the Canadian Forces National Counter-Intelligence Unit.

Lucie is an MBA graduate from Athabasca University, holds a bachelor's degree in Administration from College militaire de St-Jean as well as a certificate in Environmental Sciences.
